The Apple boss has encouraged employees to return to the office in September, but they may have changed their tone due to the resurrection in the case of Covid-19. According to Bloomberg, the technology giant postponed the deadline back to the office about a month and would not expect employees to start working out of the facilities again until October. It was reported in response to the recent uptick in the case of Coronavirus because of the spread of Delta variants which are very transmitting in the US and throughout the world.
The giant technology initially wanted to apply hybrid workplace settings starting September, where most employees would be expected to appear in the office for three days a week a week as possible. “Video conference calls have narrowed the distance between us, to ensure, but there are things that cannot be imitated,” The Cook team reportedly wrote in an internal email.
When Verge’s report, staff members try to push back and send letters to companies to think about them to rethink “location-flexible work policies” and to embrace long-distance work for inclusion and diversity. However, Apple Execs insisted at that time “in-people collaboration is very important for the culture of [company] and … the future.”
Bloomberg noted that Apple was one of the first technological giants was the US to delay back to the office. Google announced that it adopted a Hybrid working week in May, but expects 20 percent of workforce to continue working from a full-time house. As for Facebook, CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously said that he expected 50 percent of his employees to work from home in the next five to ten years. While Apple did not have new data for the implementation of its hybrid workplace, the source of Bloomberg said that the company would provide employee notices a month before they were expected to return to work in the office.
