Towards the release of Windows 11 later this year, Microsoft is working on a reditified version of the Microsoft team for the next version of its operating system which will also function in Windows 10.
First announced during the Windows 11 giant software program, the main update for video conferencing software is currently called Microsoft Teams 2.0.
The biggest difference between the existing team clients and the upcoming is the fact that Microsoft Teams 2.0 is based on Edge WebView2 instead of electrons that will enable Microsoft to use embedded Web technology such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript along with the chromium rendering machine.
At the same time, Team 2.0 will no longer use angular and will now use the open source front-end JavaScript library ..js.
Microsoft Teams 2.0.
As reported by the latest Windows, the new Microsoft team clients are built around the Microsoft team for the Web even though it does not look different from existing applications or websites. However, because it uses Edge WebView2, Team 2.0 no longer has a address bar and the user will be able to run the application in a separate window because they can be with an old application.
Browser extensions and main menus have also been deleted in new clients to provide more experiences such as the original application even though the Microsoft Edge footsteps can still be found when clicking right anywhere in the application.
Based on the latest team test from Team 2.0 in the Windows 11 preview version, news outlets observed that the application is now significantly faster on the desktop and runs better on low-end devices. Microsoft Teams 2.0 also uses less memory and performance that is slightly better too. This application is now launched instantly and the user team will no longer be stuck on the loading screen as a result of the Microsoft Edge background process and the inclusion of WebView2.
Unlike the old client, the Team 2.0 application window can now be changed in size and the interface scale next to it automatically. Microsoft has also added integration with original notifications and other Windows 10 features. While many features are now available on new clients, advanced controls are still missing that limit the functionality of the same mode and prevent users from changing the team noise cancellation feature.
