- Set your epoxy glass
One of the most challenging parts of making epoxy glasses actually uses epoxy resin. However, someone is familiar with a little practice.
Start the process by selecting an area close to the power supply. You need to use a Turner Cup that needs to be run for at least 6 hours on stretches. In addition, your glass needs to be truly horizontal if it can’t cause droplets and uneven epoxy resin applications. Prevent drip chaos by placing the paper plate under the Turner Cup.
- Select the suitable tumbler
You must choose the tumbler based on the type of drink you plan to pour into it. That is because the epoxy resin which is fully cured can handle a maximum temperature of 120F / 50C. So, select the tumbler isolated if you plan to pour hot drinks into it. With isolated tumblers, the exterior will remain cold even though the heat of your drink.
You also have to choose a glass that has plastic lips at the top to prevent hot drinks to withdraw epoxy resin near the Brim area. You can choose metal tumbles, plastic, glass, or ceramics to make epoxy glasses.
- Reach your work area and tumbler
Cover your work area with plastic sheets, take the Turner Cup, and place it on the sheet. You must cover your tumbler part that you don’t want to apply epoxy. You can do this using tape.
Now, stick foam soccer to one end of the stem and push the stem to the bottom of the tumbler. Enter the end of the stem to the Turner Cup motorbike. Use the level indicator to ensure that the tumbler is very horizontal.
- Mix and apply epoxy resin to the tumbler
Choose a good ventilated space and wear gloves as a starter. Use 10 ml of epoxy if you use a 20oz glass. Pour 5ml resin and 5ml hardener on each cup. Then, pour the hardener slowly into the epoxy cup and stir gently to avoid the formation of the bubble. Stay stirring until the epoxy solution is clear.
Turn on your cup spinner to rotate quite slowly. Now, pour epoxy slowly to the epoxy cup and smoothen throughout the length of the tumbler. You can do this by using your free gloved hands or silicone brush.
Make sure you pour all epoxies to the tumbler to make a thick coat on it. Still smooth it along long while pouring the solution. Let the tumbler continue to spin for 10 minutes after you apply an epoxy solution. You can then delete the masking tape that you use to cover certain parts of the tumbler.
Leave your cup run for a few hours before you take the tumbler from it. Remove after 6 or 7 hours and let the air glass dry for a few hours before you start using it.
6.Add glitter to your tumbler
It’s the easiest to apply glitter to your tumbler when it’s in Turner. Start by closing the base and full of the tumbler and apply the glitter solution horizontally. You can add a luster to your tumbler using a loose glitter or glitter paint. If you choose to use a loose glitter, then spray the tumbler surface with adhesive spray and sprinkle quickly on the surface.
If you choose to use a glitter paint, just use a silicone brush to apply paint on the tumbler surface and let it dry.
Note: Select the glitter color that is similar to the basic paint color you use to coat the tumbler.
Finally, it’s finished with another layer of epoxy resin but only uses very little amount since too many epoxies will make glitter chaos in certain spots and make spots. Let the epoxy layer healed for 72 hours after it must be completely dry.
So, there you have it. Follow this guide and turn your regular glass into a luxury epoxy glass in a short time!
