Nintendo has taken unusual steps denying reports that it makes more benefits from the new OLED switch model. Last week, a report from industrial analyst quoted Bloomberg claimed that the new model only cost Nintendo around $ 10 more per unit to produce, while the price of $ 350 was $ 50 more than the previous model.
“News report on July 15, 2021 (JST) claims that the profit margin of the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will increase compared to the Nintendo Switch. To ensure the correct understanding among our investors and customers, we want to explain that claims are not correct,” said company in a tweet.
Nintendo did not react to rumors, so it was famous that it had denied this one. However, the report involves potential profits and Nintendo specifically mentions “investors,” so they might want to lead this for fiduciary reasons. If the Bloomberg report is accurate, Nintendo will generate $ 40 more per switch, a well-known encouragement. The OLED switch replaces the LED display on the original switch with a 720p 720p OLED screen and doubled the storage to 64GB, while adding an Ethernet port and an increase in kickstand.
Many reports also point to the possibility of Nintendo launching other consoles, pro switches, with upper class components and NVIDIA DLSS technology. However, Nintendo also shot down the rumor. “We also want to clarify that we have just announced that the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will be launched in October, 2021, and has no plans to launch other models at this time,” Nintendo added in a follow-up tweet.
