Uber has announced the first major expansion of the food delivery service in the US. The company is more than double the number of service areas this week to the north of 400 cities and the city. Now serving several major markets through uber and uber eating applications, including San Francisco, New York City and Washington DC.
Fast expansion is partly triggered by partnerships with Albertons companies and 1,200 grocery stores throughout the country. Albertons has a brand including Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Acme, Tom Thumb and Randalls. Uber also offers shipments from regional chains such as Southeast Grocer and New York Red Apple Group. Uber Pass customers and Eats Pass do not need to pay shipping costs on wholesale orders of more than $ 30.
Wholesale shipping becomes an important component of the Uber business during the toughest part of the Covid-19 pandemic, because the number of rides was revealed by people. The company also deals with lack of drivers that lead to higher prices for vehicles. Uber bought several shipping startups over the past few years to trigger its growth in the sector, such as Cornershop, Postnet and Drizly.
