Amid death rumours, Taliban co-founder Abdul Ghani Baradar says ‘alive and well’

Over the past two days, social media is in a frenzy over reports that claim that Barabar, was named as deputy to Mullah Mohammed Hassan Akhund, was seriously injured in a shootout in the presidential palace at the Presidential Palace.

Co-founder of the Taliban Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on Monday released an audio message amid rumors that he had died in a power struggle with Anas Haqqani Haqqani network leader. In audio, Barabar heard saying that he was “alive and well” and rejects reports of deaths or injuries as “false propaganda.”

Over the past two days, social media is in a frenzy over reports that claim that Barabar, was named as deputy to Mullah Mohammed Hassan Akhund, was seriously injured in a shootout in the presidential palace at the Presidential Palace. “Over the last few nights, I have gone on the way. Wherever I am right now, we’re all fine, all the brothers and my friends,” he is heard saying in the audio.

“The media always publish false propaganda. Therefore, with the courage to reject all that lie, and I am 100 percent confirm to you there is no problem and we had no problems,” said Barabar well.

There is no evidence of non-Taliban in the line-up, which has been a major demand of the international community. The group was also no mention of women as part of the governance structure.
